As the Project Lead, you will work alongside the organizations COO, Project Manager, and Technicians on a variety of responsibilities and projects. This position includes tight deadlines and a multitude of activities and will report to the organizations Project Manager. The exact responsibilities for this position will be determined by the experience of the candidate hired.

Responsibilities

  • Independently and successfully manage commercial installation projects from start up to completion.
  • Continually monitor, review, communicate, report, etc. on the profitability of a project and communicate with management issues with estimates, budgets, cost increases, labor hour issues, etc.
  • Create, review, and communicate change orders to the Project Manager and appropriate Technicians.
  • Lead multiple projects at the same time and report to management on the complete percent of each project.
  • Assist team members with on-site work, material acquisition, equipment needs, adjustments to schedules, and paperwork to help assure that projects are completed to specifications, on time and on budget.
  • Assist in the resolution of any project related issues or conflicts between team members, management, and/or clients.
  • Assist in the preparation of project estimates, budgets, and schedules.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Support the procurement process by obtaining quotes and managing vendor relationships.
  • Other assignments and responsibilities as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent technology and software utilization skills.
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling, time management, and project management principals.
  • Understanding of safety procedure and use of personal protection equipment.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.

Grand Traverse Refrigeration is based in beautiful Northern Michigan. This position will be based out of our Traverse City office.  This is a great place to live, work and play!  With rich forests, trails for miles, sand dunes, and an abundance of shoreline, it’s easy to see why we love it so much!  Northern Michigan truly offers something for everyone with our beautiful four seasons and the opportunity for year round outdoor adventures!  Candidates should be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.

The Position

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of commercial installation of HVAC materials, equipment, parts, etc.
  • Responsible for scheduling and estimating the time required to complete projects.
  • Oversee installation technicians, project coordinator, and project lead.  Duties including training, hiring, mentoring, etc.
  • Lead weekly project meetings to discuss job cost, scheduling forecast, client issues, profitability, etc.
  • Actively monitor job costs and labor hours for all projects to ensure projects finish on time and on budget.

The Position

As the Service Dispatcher, you will work alongside the organizations COO, Operations Manager, and Technicians on a variety of responsibilities and projects.  This position includes tight deadlines and a multitude of activities and will report to the organizations Operations Manager.  The exact responsibilities for this position will be determined by the experience of the candidate hired. 

Responsibilities

  • Effectively route technicians to various locations based on service requests.  Monitor and manage the dispatch of services, ensuring timely response and efficient route planning.
  • Assign the appropriate technician based on various selection criteria ranging from skill set to physical location.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for technicians in the field.  Provide clear and accurate information about the service locations, client service request and scheduling adjustments.
  • Coordinate daily schedules for technicians, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.  Be flexible and adaptive, capable of adjusting schedules and routes based on priority and/or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Maintain and manage a schedule of pending jobs and ensure the full completion of those jobs.
  • Communicate with customers to provide information, clarify issues, or resolve scheduling issues.  Always maintain a professional and empathetic communication style.
  • Monitor dispatch board for upcoming available parts, pending/incomplete dispatches and scheduling accordingly.
  • Maintain frequent communication and coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, billing as well as managers, technicians, and customers to ensure an efficient process and completion of all service calls.
  • Other assignments and responsibilities as necessary.

Requirements

  • Education and/or Experience – bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.  
  • Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  
  • Reasoning Ability –Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills To perform this position successfully, you should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.  
  • Other Skills – Must have strong organizational, communication and time management skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and a positive attitude.
